Creating Virtual Tours

In Planoplan, you can create spherical 360° panoramas and combine them into virtual tours. A panorama allows you to view an interior from a fixed camera point in all directions. A virtual tour lets you navigate between several panoramas within the same project, as if walking through the space.

The option to combine 360 panoramas into a virtual tour becomes available in the project gallery when viewing a panorama. Activating this option opens the virtual tour setup window.

Creating a Virtual Tour

  1. Make sure you have at least two panoramas rendered in UHD 4K or UHD 8K.
  2. In the gallery, select the first panorama and click «Create a Tour».

This opens the virtual tour setup window. All changes are saved automatically. To exit, click the X in the top-right corner.

Configuring the Virtual Tour

Managing panoramas

  • On the left side, you’ll see a list of all available panoramas.
  • Click on a panorama to view it on the right.
  • To set a panorama as the starting point, hover over it and click the gray flag — it will turn red.

Panorama names are taken from the room names where they were created. To rename a panorama, click its name and enter a new one.

Hotspot

Hotspot allow users to move between panoramas inside the virtual tour.

  1. Open the panorama where the point should be placed.
  2. Double-click in the desired spot.
  3. In the opened menu, select «Add hotspot».
  4. Specify:
  • the icon for the hotspot;
  • the target panorama.

The selected icon will be remembered and used for the next hotspot by default.

Once created, the name of the target panorama will appear above the icon.
You must manually create return transitions the same way.

To edit a hotspot:

  • click it with the left mouse button;
  • you can change the icon, change the target panorama, or delete the point.

Saving and Editing

After closing the setup window, a new object will appear in the gallery — the virtual tour.

  • Use hotspots to navigate inside the tour.
  • To make changes, click «Edit Tour».
  • To share the tour, click «Share» — the link will be copied to your clipboard.
  • To embed the tour on a website, click «Embed Code» — a code snippet like this will be generated:

The tour remains available via the link or embedded code as long as both the tour and the project exist.

Info Points

Info points are interactive elements in your tour that can include an image, description, and optional clickable button.

How to add an info point:

  1. Double-click in the desired location in a panorama.
  2. In the menu, select «Add info point».
  3. Choose one of three icons.
  4. Upload an image (up to 10 MB, formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG).
  5. Enter a description in the «Description» field.
  6. Button text.
  7. Button link (https://... or mailto:...).

If a link is provided, clicking the button will open the link in a new browser tab.

Click the «Preview» button in the top-right corner to check your info point.

To save changes, click anywhere outside the info point window.
