Wall Elevations

Wall Elevation is a special mode in Planoplan that allows you to create and edit a flat representation of the interior walls, as well as the floor and ceiling of a room. This tool is especially useful for preparing project documentation and visually displaying the placement of furniture, decor, and other elements along the walls.

Any changes made to the room geometry are automatically reflected in the elevations.

How to Open Wall Elevation Mode

You can access the Wall Elevation mode from the settings window of the floor, ceiling, or wall. Click the "Wall Elevation" button — this will open the working area for creating and editing elevations.

Elevations can only be created for interior walls. When changing walls, already created layouts can be reset.

Wall Elevation Interface

Once Wall Elevation mode is activated, a dedicated workspace opens. The interface includes the following elements:

Top left corner:

  • button to exit elevation mode and return to 3D view;
  • a mini-map of the room. To identify a specific wall, click on it — it will be highlighted both in the workspace and on the mini-map.

Working area:

  • walls can be dragged to any position. To move a wall, hold the left mouse button and drag it;
  • you can arrange the walls in any combination that suits your workflow.

Top toolbar:

Includes tools for marking and editing the elevation, similar to those in the 3D editor:

  • Dimension;
  • Polyline;
  • Callout;
  • Shape;
  • Text;
  • Table;
  • Image;
  • Snapping — enables guides and auxiliary elements for precise positioning.

All elevation elements placed on a wall «stick» to it and will move together when the wall is moved.

Left side:

  • "Undo" — undo the last action.
  • "Redo" — redo the last undone action.

Right side:

  • "Export" — opens the export settings for the elevation.

Exporting an Elevation

Click the "Export" button to save the elevation as an image.

Adjusting View and Scale

In export mode:

  • move the plan by holding the right mouse button;
  • zoom in or out using the mouse scroll wheel;
  • the export area is highlighted with a blue frame.

Image Settings

In the export settings menu, you can adjust:

Aspect Ratio — choose from predefined options:

  • A4 (2480×3508 px);
  • Letter (2551×3295 px);
  • 1:1 (1000×1000 px);
  • 3:4 (1500×2000 px);
  • 16:9 (1080×1920 px);
  • A3 (4960×3508 px).
  • Custom — manually set width and height (no more than 8000×8000 px)

Orientation — horizontal or vertical.

Width and Height — enter values via keyboard, use arrows ↑/↓, or the slider. A lock icon next to the input fields allows proportional resizing.

Display Options

You can enable or disable the visibility of specific elements. If a checkbox is unchecked, the corresponding content will not appear in the export view:

  • Furniture — hides all furniture adjacent to the walls;
  • Letter designations of corners — hides automatically added labels for angles;
  • Wall cladding — enables a thin outline around the walls for better visibility of light-colored walls.
  • Object edges - enables display of edges on objects.

Export Format

You can export the elevation image in one of two formats:

  • JPG;
  • PNG.

After clicking the "Export" button, the image will be saved and automatically added to the project gallery.
