In Planoplan, you can add images to the 2D plan to use them as diagrams, sketches, logos, or visual comments. This is a useful tool for layout approval, project documentation, or plan presentation.

How to add an image to the plan

  1. Open the 2D mode.
  2. Select the «Image» menu item or press the P key on your keyboard.
  3. In the dialog that appears, choose an image in .jpg, .jpeg, or .png format.
  4. Click the «Open» button.

The image will appear on the 2D plan and will be attached to your cursor, allowing you to choose where to place it.

How the image works on the plan

  • Once placed, the image retains its original proportions.
  • By default, the longest side of the image equals 2 meters on the plan.
  • You can resize the image manually using the corner handles.

What happens after the image is added

The added image becomes a «Shape» object with a modified fill type:

  • The fill is replaced with the selected image.
  • You can move, resize, and rotate the image just like any other shape.
  • Additional properties are available in the right panel: transparency, layer order, etc.

Images are not included in the project specification and are not visible in 3D mode or renders. You can add multiple images to a single project. It is recommended to optimize the image size in advance — the maximum file size is 10 MB.
