Planoplan Updates

Updates in Planoplan provide new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes. The app updates automatically, but it’s important to understand how this process works and what to do if an update does not install.

Update frequency

We release updates regularly:

  • beta versions — about once a month;
  • main version — about once every 3 months.

You can check the latest version in the blog.

How to check your current version

You can find your current version:

  • on Windows — in the top-left corner of the app window;
  • on macOS — in the app properties.

How updates work

Updates are installed automatically:

  1. The app checks for updates on launch.
  2. If an update is available, it starts downloading after the project fully loads in 2D.
  3. After downloading, the app will prompt you to:
  • update now;
  • postpone the update.

Please note:

  • updates are mandatory;
  • if postponed, the update will install on the next launch;
  • the installation process is quick and similar to a standard app installation.

If the update does not appear

If you know an update has been released but the app does not prompt you:

  1. Restart the app.
  2. Open any project in the “Account”.
  3. Wait until it fully loads in 2D.
  4. Wait a few minutes without minimizing the app (the update downloads in the background).

The update file size is usually 200–300 MB.

If the update does not appear within 10 minutes, perform a clean installation.

Clean installation

A clean installation helps if:

  • the update does not install;
  • the app repeatedly tries to update;
  • errors occur after updating.
